Turn your idea into a powerful digital solution built around your business.
Dalel Kuwait is a fully custom-developed business directory and business discovery platform created specifically for the Kuwait market. Unlike an off-the-shelf directory solution, the complete system was architected and developed from the ground up around the client’s requirements.
The project began with a custom UI/UX design created in Figma, which was then translated into a functional application. The platform was developed using ASP.NET Core and C#, with SQL Server providing the central data layer and a custom REST API connecting the web platform with the Android and iOS mobile applications.
The complete solution consists of several interconnected applications: a public-facing business directory, registered user functionality, a dedicated Business Owner Portal, a Super Admin management system, a REST API layer and cross-platform mobile applications developed with Flutter.
Rather than functioning as separate products, these components operate as one connected ecosystem, sharing centralized business data, user information, categories, listings, ratings, favourites and administrative controls.
The interface was not built around a ready-made website template. A dedicated designer created the project's UI/UX in Figma, covering the visual direction and user experience for the platform.
The approved designs were then converted into responsive application interfaces while retaining the intended layouts, spacing, navigation patterns, components and overall brand experience.
Special attention was given to maintaining consistency between the public website, business management areas, administration screens and mobile experience while still adapting each interface to its specific users and functionality.
The public-facing platform provides users with a structured way to discover businesses operating across Kuwait.
Businesses can be organised using different business types and categories, while users can search and browse listings using relevant keywords and classifications.
Each business can maintain its own detailed profile containing the information required for customers to understand the business and its services.
The directory was designed to support functionality including:
This required considerably more than presenting static directory pages because the information displayed throughout the website is generated dynamically from the central database.
A custom account system allows visitors to move beyond basic directory browsing and interact with businesses through personalised functionality.
Registered users can authenticate with the platform and use account-specific features such as saving businesses to their favourites and submitting ratings or reviews.
User-related functionality is connected with the central database, allowing interactions to remain associated with individual accounts and making the platform capable of supporting additional personalised functionality as it grows.
A dedicated Business Owner Portal was developed so that businesses can manage their presence on Dalel Kuwait rather than relying entirely on administrators.
Business owners can access a separate authenticated management environment and maintain information associated with their business profiles.
The portal establishes a scalable model in which individual businesses can manage their own directory presence while Dalel Kuwait retains centralized administrative control over the overall platform.
This separation between public users, business owners and administrators required dedicated authentication, role management, permissions and business logic.
A separate Super Admin system provides centralized control over the entire Dalel Kuwait platform.
Instead of managing platform data directly through the database, administrators have a structured web interface through which core information and platform activity can be managed.
Administrative functionality covers areas such as:
The admin system was designed as an operational application in its own right rather than simply a few backend pages added to the public website.
A structured SQL Server database forms the central data layer of the platform.
The database was designed to manage relationships between users, business owners, businesses, categories, business types, favourites, ratings, reviews and other application records.
Because several applications rely on the same information, maintaining data integrity and clear entity relationships was particularly important.
The database architecture was designed with future expansion in mind so that additional functionality can be introduced without having to restructure the entire application.
A custom REST API using ASP.NET Core Web API was developed as a core part of the architecture.
The API provides a controlled communication layer between the backend and client applications, particularly the Flutter mobile apps.
Rather than duplicating business logic and data independently for mobile devices, the apps communicate with the central platform through API endpoints.
The API architecture handles the exchange of information such as business records, categories, business types, user information and other directory data while maintaining a single central source of data.
This separation between the frontend applications and backend services also makes the platform significantly easier to extend and maintain.
Dalel Kuwait also includes dedicated Android and iOS mobile applications developed using Flutter.
The mobile applications extend the business directory beyond the website and provide users with a convenient way to discover and interact with local businesses from their smartphones.
Both applications communicate with the ASP.NET Core backend through the custom REST API, allowing mobile users to access the same centralized directory information used by the web platform.
The mobile architecture supports functionality such as business discovery, category browsing, business information, featured listings, user accounts, favourites and other directory interactions.
Using Flutter provided a shared cross-platform development approach while still delivering applications for both Android and iOS.
Most importantly, the mobile apps are not isolated applications with separate data. They form part of the same Dalel Kuwait ecosystem, connected to the central API and SQL Server database.
One of the important complexities of the project was supporting several fundamentally different types of users within one platform.
The architecture accommodates:
Guest Users who can browse and search the business directory.
Registered Users who can access personalised functionality such as favourites and ratings.
Business Owners who require authenticated access to business-management functionality.
Super Administrators who need complete management access across the platform.
Each role has different permissions, interfaces and actions, requiring dedicated authorization and access-control logic rather than a single generic login system.
Authentication and authorization were incorporated throughout the application architecture rather than being limited to a basic login screen.
Protected areas and API functionality require appropriate user authentication and permissions, while role-based authorization determines what different users can access and manage.
Security considerations were applied across the public application, business portal, administration system, APIs and database communication to help prevent unauthorized access to protected functionality.
The Figma designs were implemented as responsive web interfaces so that the public directory and management functionality remain usable across desktop, tablet and mobile devices.
Responsive implementation involved adapting navigation, forms, listings, business information, dashboard components and administrative interfaces for different screen sizes rather than simply shrinking desktop layouts.
One of the most technically significant aspects of Dalel Kuwait is that it is not a collection of unrelated websites and apps.
The public website, registered-user functionality, Business Owner Portal, Super Admin system and Android/iOS applications are connected through a common backend architecture.
The structure can be viewed as:

This architecture creates a single source of truth for the platform while allowing multiple interfaces to consume and manage the same underlying information.
Dalel Kuwait provides a centralized digital ecosystem for local business discovery and business management rather than functioning as a simple online directory.
Users gain an organised way to discover businesses, browse categories, save favourites and interact with listings, while business owners receive a dedicated environment for managing their digital presence.
At the same time, administrators retain centralized control through the Super Admin system.
The shared ASP.NET Core backend, SQL Server database and REST API allow the website, portals and mobile applications to operate from the same data infrastructure, reducing duplication and providing a strong foundation for future development.
The completed Dalel Kuwait solution is a fully custom, multi-platform business directory ecosystem built around a scalable ASP.NET Core architecture rather than an off-the-shelf directory product.
From the original Figma UI/UX designs through database architecture, C# development, business logic, authentication, business-owner functionality, administration tools and REST API development, the platform was engineered as a connected system tailored specifically to Dalel Kuwait's requirements.
The final ecosystem brings together a public business directory, registered-user functionality, Business Owner Portal, Super Admin system, SQL Server database, ASP.NET Core REST API, and Flutter-based Android and iOS applications.
The result is a centralized platform where users can discover businesses, business owners can manage their presence, administrators can control platform operations, and mobile applications can consume the same centralized data through the API.
Its modular architecture also gives Dalel Kuwait a strong technical foundation for future functionality, additional integrations, expanded business services and continued growth without having to rebuild the core system.
